The trend of late marriage in modern society

by TongPik Ha 22 May 2026

In today's society, late marriage has become a prominent trend. According to statistical data, the average age of marriage for modern people has risen to over 30. Many young people choose to enter marriage after their careers are stable and they have achieved personal growth. With the improvement of women's education levels and the increase in career opportunities, many women choose to focus on their careers, thus postponing marriage. In addition, modern society's expectations for marriage have changed, with emotional connection and mutual growth between partners becoming increasingly important. People hope to find a truly suitable partner when choosing one, rather than marrying hastily due to social pressure.

In metaphysics, marriage is considered the union of two souls, where their destiny, fate, and personalities all affect the quality of the marriage. Marriage is the "only time you choose your family with your eyes open," so it must be handled carefully. However, due to certain characteristics in some women's Eight Characters, such as conflicting marriage palaces, unfavorable officer/killer stars, sisters fighting for husbands, or self-punishing earthly branches, this author generally advises them to consider unconventional marriages, which may reduce the unfavorable factors affecting their marriage according to their destiny.

1. Choose a partner with a significant age difference

If women choose an older partner (10 years or more older), they usually receive more tolerance and understanding. Older men, with their rich life experience, tend to have a more mature attitude towards relationships and are better able to accommodate the needs of younger women. This age difference not only enhances the默契 (tacit understanding) between partners but also balances their personalities and lifestyles.

2. Men who have been divorced

Men who have experienced marriage tend to reflect on past failures when entering marriage again. Such men are usually more willing to tolerate their partners and understand the difficulties in marriage. This reflection on failure makes them more mature when facing new relationships and able to avoid repeating past mistakes.

3. Long-distance relationships

In long-distance marriages, due to different cultural backgrounds, couples are often better able to understand and tolerate each other. Different upbringing environments make it easier for partners to consider each other's perspectives when resolving conflicts, thereby promoting harmony in the relationship.

4. Late marriage

In modern society, many people choose to marry after the age of 35, embracing the idea that "more experience leads to more wisdom." Having experienced more challenges and tempering in life, they are more cautious in choosing a partner, which in turn increases the stability of the marriage. People who marry late are usually more emotionally mature and can view the various challenges of marriage more rationally.

5. Younger partners

For women with stronger personalities, it is suggested to choose younger men. Younger men are usually more receptive to women's opinions and willing to listen and be tolerant, which helps balance the power structure in the family and promotes good communication between spouses.

In metaphysics, choosing a suitable partner will help improve the quality of marriage. Both love and marriage are important lessons in life, and everyone should manage them with care.
