Recently, I've noticed an increasing number of online fortune-telling articles and short videos. By entering one's birth data, one can receive AI interpretations, with titles such as "Three zodiac signs that will strike it rich," "Secrets to turning your luck around in ten years," and so on. These portray "Grand Luck" in Bazi (Eight Characters) as the ultimate truth in life, yet they obscure the most fundamental truth of fortune-telling: the quality of the original Bazi chart's structure is far more crucial than the so-called "Grand Luck." As the saying goes, "First destiny, second luck, third feng shui," with "destiny" always being the most important.

The Bazi chart's structure, determined by the four pillars of the birth year, month, day, and hour, dictates the ceiling of one's potential in life, personality traits, level of nobility, extent of wealth, and even the overall scale of life's stage. The success or failure, clarity or turbidity, and high or low level of the structure are like the material (gold, jade, or pottery) and capacity (a giant cauldron or a small cup) of a vessel. From the moment a baby is born, it delineates the maximum capacity for blessings and rewards in this life.

High-level structures, such as "Hurting Officer with Seal" or "Seven Killings and Seal Generating Each Other," have clear and stable formations, like tripods cast from fine steel. Even when encountering the impact of "Seven Killings luck" (pressure, competition, villains), their optimized internal configurations (Seal transforming Killings, Eating God restraining Killings) can turn danger into opportunity, leading to rapid growth. When truly favorable elemental luck arrives (such as wealth luck or seal luck), the potential of the structure can be unleashed, enabling one to reach the pinnacle of life.

Conversely, lower-level structures, such as "weak self, strong wealth without control" or "confused official and killing stars without seal," are like cracked glass cups. Even if one encounters "Eating God generating wealth luck" (talent flourishing, opportunities emerging), due to the fundamental flaw of "a weak self unable to bear wealth" in the original chart, wealth and opportunities can turn into colossal stones that crush oneself – leading to investment failures, health breakdowns, and even misfortunes, accelerating the exposure of fatal flaws. Even with "Rob Wealth luck," the structure dictates the upper limit of one's financial fortune in life; one simply works harder and earns wealth through toil. Moreover, many Bazi charts don't even form a basic structure. Even with good luck, one lives an ordinary life rather than becoming exceptionally wealthy or noble.

The guiding element in Bazi is a profound subject. For example, even if the original Bazi chart strongly requires the element of fire, the year 2026 Bing Wu (Fire Horse) may not necessarily bring good luck. If the chart originally contains a Ren Zi (Water Rat) pillar, it signifies a celestial clash and earthly clash with the passing year, pushing away the guiding element. In fortune-telling, "a slight deviation leads to a huge mistake." The combinations of the four pillars and eight characters are ever-changing, and different Grand Lucks are interpreted differently; it's not simply a matter of having the required elemental presence to experience good luck.

Individuals with high-level structures, even during average or adverse luck cycles, often achieve far more than those with low-level structures during "good luck." Conversely, even when low-level structures encounter "good luck," their peak and duration of success are unlikely to reach the normal standards of high-level structures. This is the Bazi interpretation of "a lean camel is still bigger than a horse" – the structure is the unshakeable foundation of destiny.

"Not everyone has Grand Luck." The river of destiny flows, and the Bazi structure determines whether you are a giant vessel or a small boat. Grand Luck is merely the changing waves. A giant vessel, even encountering reefs, can ultimately break through the waves with its strength; a small boat, even with favorable winds, struggles to cross vast oceans.
